Sarah and Dan Grow Up - Lets Get House Hunting...

So as promised here is the second instalment to our house hunt... I left off last time with what we'd done with our mortgage and I had spoken about saving up for that all important deposit, so now we're on to my favourite bit, actually looking around people's houses - queue tireless hours spent crawling over Rightmove and Zoopla! As I said before we're looking for a house that isn't in too great of a shape, a 'fixer-upper'. The market seems to have a few floating around, so we didn't think it'd be too hard to find what we're looking for. We're after a minimum of two beds, preferably three, and we need a large kitchen/dinner or a separate dinning room as we have the biggest table in the world, which is very pretty and we want to keep it. We're not too fussed whether it's a semi, end terraced or mid terraced. We'd also like an off-road parking spot and a nice garden but we're willing to compromise on these... and I feel ...

Sarah and Dan Grow Up - The Property Adventure Begins...

Hey everyone, it's been a while! Thought it was about time I got back into the blogging and with something new to blog about too I definitely had to do it! Me and my better half (ha! 😘) are about to take our first steps onto the property ladder, or at least we're trying to- there seem to be hundreds of sites out there to tell you how they think you should do it and lots of what people are calling 'handy tips' and 'hints', and there are even guides on how to do property developing... and well I'm sure a fair bit is useful, I'm also sure a fair bit is utter crap too, because if it was that easy wouldn't everyone be doing it?  So I figured why don't I write a blog of our experiences from start to finish and actually be honest about things we might be doing or have done wrong and hopefully right too, and you can all laugh at me as I inevitably take a sledgehammer to a load-bearing wall or when we price something up unrealistically ...

Preview: Mink & Stone

Well it's been a while since I've blogged about anything else but the business, but I've missed it, so I'm starting it up again! I'll just have to make sure I find the time :) This week I've received some very lovely items, totally different to what I sell, I want to make sure there is no conflict of interest with anything!  Here is my first... And in all honesty I think it's quite possibly my favourite thing I have ever received, in fact I don't think it is... I know it is!  It's a gorgeous bracelet I designed myself and had custom made on the Mink & Stone website... and its just stunning. The quality is amazing and I love the detail on the beads. Photo: Mink & Stone As always, this is just a little preview, I'll pop it into an outfit post as soon as my photographer is free. So for now that's all I'll write as I don't want to repeat myself on the full outfit post. But in the meantime why...

Fresh Start

I’ve decided its time for a new challenge… and just to make things a little bit harder I thought why not try two at once, something I’m sure I’ll regret later, however one is pretty small really. The first one is to create a new business! And the second… well that’s not so exciting, I’m going to participate in the 100 Happy Days Challenge. I’ve decided my life isn't heading in the right direction and its time to sort it out. I’m fed up of restrictions, fed up of having to answer to other people, and being dictated to or put down. It’s time to stand on my own two feet and get back on track with what I spent £24,000 on getting a bachelors degree for! My boyfriend of 8 years left university a year after me and is currently running two thriving businesses and I’m stuck on not much more than minimum wage not being able to fully be myself and explore my creativity in the way I want to and it’s time that changes. I’ve struggled with depression and an anxiety disorder for...

All Photography By Daniel Chesterton The top is very well made and a good price at £24! It is something you could dress up or down so is definitely something worth investing in.  I love the contrast in the two different fabrics, they work really nicely together, I think its the quilting detail that makes it work so well.  Coat: F&F Top: Closet Clothing /Brand Nation Shorts: River Island Tights: Topshop Shoes: New Look Bag: Carlo Pazolini Watch: DKNY Let me know what you guys think! So this week's haul was a big one! The guys from Skull Accessories  and the  Beautiful Bracelet Shop sent me a massive bundle of some gorgeous products, which I'll be styling up later on in the week. Take a look at some of the goodies I've received... Pineskull vest top Loving the little compact mirror :) Seem to have quite a collection of these now! haha Matches Compact Mirror I think the print on the top is really unique, I love how the illustrator has made skulls out of pineapples, it's not something I've seen before and even though I'm a designer myself I don't actually think I'd have even thought about it, I think it's been brilliantly done and works fantastic as a repeat. Necklace So many pretty bracelets, can't wait to put them with an outfit! So happy I received some earrings as well, I normally ignore my ears as I generally can't wear earrings for very long anymore but it's something I want ...

Fashion Shoot: Behind The Scenes

Hey! So as you all know by now I have a full time job as a Fashion Stylist, so this week I thought I'd take you behind the scenes to see what we get up to and what its like as a stylist. It's not always as glamorous as you think, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun! This week we wanted a very specific set, which would cost a fortune to have made and as we have a strict budget we decided to build it ourselves!  It may have been cardboard and it might not be that neat but just you wait till we get it in photoshop! :) besides we had great fun doing it!!! Here is Roy our grumpy photographer busy cutting out... And he's me having a bit of fun with the already cut out trees. Here's my clothes rail ready for the shoot, lots of gorgeous outfits! Can you spot everything you like? All my jewellery ready to go! Then it was time to get our beautiful model from Nemesis Model Agency Manchester Sarah Bannister ready. For the ma...
